A note from Pamela Jackson, Communications Coordinator
On March 11, I will be shaving all of my hair off in solidarity with children across the world who are diagnosed with cancer and often lose their hair in treatment. I wanted to make sure you were aware before you saw me at an event one day and had no idea who the new bald girl was!
The event is arranged by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and will be held at Fado’s Irish Pub in Buckhead from 2:30-7:30pm on Friday, March 11. You’re more than welcome to join us there to witness the event. Since 2000, events have taken place in 28 countries and 50 US states, raising over $87 million. More than 144,000 volunteers– including over 12,000 women– have shaved their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family – each one becoming a walking billboard for the cause!
My goal is to raise $1,000 for childhood cancer research by March 11. I also aim to donate my hair to Locks of Love – an organization that create wigs and hairpieces for children who would not be able to afford one otherwise.
Thank you for your support!
