Last Wednesday, August 10th, The Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce invited the GACC South to a night of baseball at the City of Rome’s minor league team, the Rome Braves. Chris Rasmussen, our Membership Coordinator, and Stefanie Jehlitschka, our VP of the Atlanta Office and Marketing Services headed northwest to take in the sights of the game.
Albert Hodge, President & CEO and Heather Seckman, Director of Economic Development of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce welcomed the GACC South to their box. Robert (Bob) Knotts, Senior Business Development Manager of O’Neal, Inc. and Paul Luthi of Suhner Manufacturing also attended the game.
There was almost no humidity, making the evening weather perfect to enjoy. The Rome Braves were down for a majority of the game, until they rallied back for an exciting ending and scored 3 runs in the eighth inning, winning 6 – 3 against the Asheville Tourists. Adding to the excitement was a high velocity foul ball that flew into the box! Thankfully nobody was hurt and Paul got to leave the game with something to remember it by.
The GACC South would like to thank the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce for this invitation to a great American sporting tradition!
