A few weeks back, we hosted our Annual New Member Reception in the friendly confines of our Atlanta office. The occasion brought together both familiar and new faces from within our region.
Like in previous years, there were welcoming remarks by the Consul General of Germany Christoph Sander and our President & CEO Martina Stellmaszek, 160+ attendees, the ability to connect with old and new friends over culinary delights and drinks, an opportunity to learn more about the GACC South and the team here, and the famed margarita machine provided by BLG Logistics.
This year we also made a couple of special announcements.
With the progress of the highly discussed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), we encouraged our guests to let us what they would like to see included in this Partnership and how their companies can benefit from the partnership as we support the initiative.
We also unveiled the creation of a new membership level to roll out at the start of the new year – the National Membership. This level will allow those that sign up to become a member in all three German American Chambers of Commerce in the U.S. with a new range of benefits.
On a lighter note (but equally important), we announced that our President & CEO would no longer be Ms. Stegmeier but Mrs. Stellmaszek with her marriage taking place in the week that followed.
Following all of this news, everyone gave a cheer and enjoyed writing words of excitement and congratulations on posted notes that filled the walls of Martina’s office, an intense game of musical chairs with a twist, and a delicious cake masterpiece made by our colleague Britta.
The rest of the evening was equally incredible and we would like to thank all of our guests in welcoming our new members and a special thank you to the Red Brick Brewing Company and Lammsbräu for being the night’s beer sponsors.
