The GACC South kicked off 2015 with four New Year’s Receptions in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, and Houston.

New Year’s Reception Charlotte, NC
Friday, January 9th, 2015

The tradition continued, as members and friends of the GACC South North Carolina Chapter gathered at the private residency of Mike & Sabine Birkle to honor the start of a great new year.

The Reception began with welcoming remarks from Chapter Director, Dr. Christian Kissinger, who highlighted a few of the regional accomplishments achieved during the past year. The chapter hosted 16 networking events with over 1,000 attendees in North Carolina, and grew their membership base with 33 new companies. Kissinger furthermore gave an outlook of 2015, highlighting some of the new event formats and expansions to new areas like Ashville, NC, that members and friends of the GACC South can be excited about.

65 guests attended the event and enjoyed the evening with light hors d’oeuvres and wine. Many new faces fostered new connections and partnerships amongst attendees.

Special guests included Klaus Becker, Honorary Consul of Germany in Charlotte, Dr. Christian Kissinger, NC Chapter Director and General Manager of SAERTEX USA, LLC and Stefanie Jehlitschka, Vice President of the GACC South.

The GACC South Houston Office hosted its New Year’s Reception on January 20th at the fabulous Hotel ZaZa with a 03beautiful view of Hermann Park. The evening successfully brought together old and new friends of the German business community to network over drinks and hors d’oeuvres while the cello and piano duo filled the room with classical tunes.

The highlight of the reception was the Silent Auction, featuring a variety of items donated from our generous community, including a German soccer Jersey autographed by the World Cup champions. This year, we were able to raise $800 through our Silent Auction in order to help support the students of John H. Reagan High School as they embark on an education exchange program founded by the Houston- Leipzig Sister City Association.

04With over 60 guests, the elegant evening was an excellent start to the New Year for the German business community in Texas. Thank you to Commerzbank for sponsoring this event and for all of those who made a generous donation to our Silent Auction!
